EXCEL CHARTS - Creating Sophisticated Business Charts with Excel (XL)
We are often asked what prerequisites are necessary for successful participation in this seminar.
Prior Knowledge
Some participants are advanced Excel users, other are beginners looking to gain expertise working with sophisticated Excel charts. Expert Excel users are concerned that they may not learn very much, and beginners worry they may be in over their heads (see the tutorial below).
After we have had the privilege of accompanying hundreds of participants in dozens of seminars over the last three years, we have gathered a great deal of experience in this area. In a typical group of ten to twelve seminar participants, there is always one or two who have difficulty with the functions, which advanced users take for granted in their daily work. Of course, people's ideas differ greatly as to what common and well-known Excel functions actually are...
But we have convinced advanced Excel users (“We’ve been working with Excel charts for years...") that they should definitely begin with the first day of the seminar.
We have been able to show even the most experienced Excel users many innovations, Tips and Tricks for creating Excel charts in just the first few hours of the seminar. These are, in part, small details, but they are important details, without which perfect results could not be achieved. This involves an entirely new understanding of Excel charts, which has little or nothing to do with the most familiar functions of the Excel chart wizard.

Tutorial for Excel
We have put together the most important basics from this seminar into a tutorial (in German) for persons interested in the Excel seminars, but concerned that they will be overwhelmed. If you have read and understood this script (based on Excel 2003), then you will also have no problem successfully completing this seminar. But if you still have trouble with the basic functions presented there, we would recommend taking one of the introductory Excel seminars offered by many operators.
No prior knowledge is required for our seminar that is beyond the level of this tutorial. Knowledge of very specific Excel formulas, pivot tables, and VBA programming is expressly not required.

Training computer
PLEASE DO NOT FORGET TO BRING YOUR LAPTOP TO THE EXCEL SEMINAR! We do not provide uniform training computers in order for you to work in the environment you are accustomed to (software version, language version, keyboard...).
PLEASE BE SURE TO BRING A MOUSE WITH YOU - working without a mouse is extremely difficult for some of the tricks.
It would be of help to make sure prior to the seminar that you have ADMINISTRATOR RIGHTS on the computer you bring with you. This is not a requirement, but some functions cannot be reproduced without these rights

Excel versions
For our seminars you will need a version between 200 and 2010. There are, in part, substantial differences in general operation between Excel up to 2003 and Excel 2007 and higher, but we will address these differences at the appropriate times and demonstrate them using the 2003 and 2007 versions.
We will be showing the German-language Excel versions on the projector. If you wish to use an English version, experience has shown that this does not present any insurmountable problems. This will, of course, involve more time and effort coordinating...
Since we will also discuss how to link Excel and PowerPoint, you should also bring PowerPoint. Additional software is not required for this seminar.
