If senior management is aware of the potential for improvement that comes from understandable reports and presentations, then they are more likely to decide in favor of undertaking the appropriate measures. If they can also be convinced that this is possible involving either the same amount of time and effort or even less than before, it will make the decision that much easier.

Realize missing messages

This is probably the most important of all points of criticism of today’s reports and presentations: Reports usually report too little, they often only have the character of statistics, and presentations are often verbal explanations of misunderstood written reports. Reports should contain clear statements, understandable explanations, and, when possible, also useful recommendations. And presentations should be seen as a means of conveying clear messages in the form of a lecture - and not as roundtable discussions where confusing PowerPoint slide are worked out together. This point calls for making it clear in the appropriate form to decision makers that there is a need to implement the rules formulated in detail under SAY.

Realize where standardized content is needed

UNIFY points out the need for standardized content pertaining to the measures, dimensions, and analyses to be conveyed. Here it means presenting this problem using suitable examples in such a way that decision makers realize the need for a SUCCESS project.

Realize where standardized visualization is needed

In addition to standardized content, what is also needed is the directly related requirement of standardized visualization, such as that stipulated in detail under UNIFY. Here this concerns the fact that things which mean the same should appear the same, and things which do not mean the same should not appear the same. It should be made clear to decision makers that such a project is needed using the help of the examples selected.
